Phoenix Martial Arts achieved outstanding success at the GTI National Open tournament on Sunday, 15th September. A squad of 18 members, including three first-time competitors, represented the Swindon-based club and brought home an impressive haul of 17 medals—the highest tally of any club at the competition.
The standout performers were Cody O’Bey, Jasmine Roux-Nel, and Austin Pearce, who each secured gold medals, leading the charge for Phoenix Martial Arts. In addition to the 3 golds, the team also earned 9 silver and 5 bronze medals, reflecting the dedication and skill of every member.
This strong performance comes just ahead of an even bigger challenge, as many of these competitors will be heading to Croatia next week to represent Phoenix Martial Arts at the Taekwondo World Championships. With high hopes and excellent preparation, the team is eager to take on the international stage.
